Support on each person’s terms

INSET, the Intensive & Sustained Engagement Team, is a voluntary, peer-led and community-based approach. It is designed to walk alongside people who may not have felt seen, supported or well served by traditional systems.

The team recognizes the effects of trauma, systemic barriers and moments of deep vulnerability. Its role is to partner with compassion, curiosity and respect for each person’s story, goals and choices.

Flexible, sustained engagement

Certified Peer Specialists and multidisciplinary staff combine professional knowledge with lived experience. Support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by phone and through flexible in-person engagement when desired.

INSET is trauma-informed and person-centered. Safety, choice, collaboration, empowerment and connection guide each interaction. Individuals define their own goals, timelines and paths forward, without rigid time limits.

Connection and practical support

The team works to strengthen existing relationships and build new connections in each person’s chosen community. Depending on individual goals, this may include housing, healthcare, education, employment or other supports. The team offers a consistent presence through transitions, uncertainty and self-identified moments of need.
