Employment as a pathway to independence
Baltic Street’s employment services evolved from NetWORKPlus into BalticWORKS, a Ticket-to-Work Employment Network guided by the evidence-based Individual Placement and Supports approach. The program supports people in building careers, pursuing competitive employment and moving toward financial self-sufficiency.
Setting employment goals
Participants can set short- and long-term employment goals. Support includes creating resumes, strengthening interview skills, identifying vocational training and navigating a local job search.
Support after employment
BalticWORKS continues alongside participants after a job is secured. Follow-along support may continue for up to five years to help people maintain employment and address changes along the way.
Understanding work and benefits
Matthew Dolcimascolo, a certified Social Security Benefits Work Incentives Advisor, helps participants understand how returning to work may affect their benefits. Financial empowerment support also includes budgeting resources and access to free financial counseling.
Published earnings figure requires review
The current Baltic Street website states that participants must aim to earn above the Substantial Gainful Activity level within three years of obtaining their Ticket-to-Work and lists $1,690 per month for a non-blind participant. This is a time-sensitive federal figure and requires confirmation before being treated as current guidance.
